Raleigh

After nearly two years of construction, Moore Square Park's Grand Opening Celebration is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3. There will be vendors, entertainers, activities and more. The event launches a slate of family-friendly activities that include movies, storytimes and arts activities.

Coastal Credit Union Music Park will host the KIDZ BOP World Tour 2019 at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2. This popular music brand features today’s biggest hits “sung by kids for kids.” Tickets start around $35. In the morning, KIDZ Bop also will host a workshop for kids ages 6 to 12 on Friday morning. It's $115 per person.

A Back to School Bash will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, at 7721 Six Forks Rd. The Raleigh Rescue Mission and and other groups will be collecting school supplies for students in need. A carnival will also take place featuring a silent auction, bounce houses, live music, food trucks and much more. It's free.

Durham

Stock up on more summer reading when Books Among Friends hosts a Friends of the Durham Library’s book sale Saturday, Aug. 3, and Sunday, Aug. 4. The sale will be open to the public from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. All proceeds go to the nonprofit Friends of the Durham Library which helps fund Durham County Library programs, services and materials. Books Among Friends is located inside Northgate Mall in Suite 252.

Holly Springs

Infinity Educators, LLC will host the second annual Holly Springs Children’s Business Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3. This one-day event will feature a variety of merchandise from youth entrepreneurs. The “kidpreneurs” retain 100% of the profits. The Business Fair will take place at Holly Springs Towne Center.
The Holly Springs Salamanders baseball team has a home game planned for 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3. The Salamanders will play the Peninsula Pilots at Ting Stadium. Tickets start at $8.

Cary

The North Carolina Courage will play a home game against the Washington Spirit at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2. The game will be held at WakeMed Soccer Park. Tickets start at $10.
Also at WakeMed Soccer Park, North Carolina FC will host the Indy Eleven at 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3. Tickets for the game start at $14.

Kids Everywear Consignment Sale has its Summer EverythingELSE Sale this weekend inside the former Sears at Cary Towne Center. The sale will offer women's clothing and accessories, plus children's toys. It's open to the general public Aug. 4 to Aug. 6. For $15, you can shop early on Aug. 3.
