FORT BRAGG, N.C. — The 82nd Airborne Division's Combat Aviation Brigade will deploy to Afghanistan in fall 2011, Army officials said Friday.

The brigade, which is based at Fort Bragg, will deploy about 2,800 soldiers to provide a variety of air, weapons and logistical support capabilities for the International Security Assistance Forces.

The brigade returned in April from a year-long deployment in southern Afghanistan. During their time, the brigade flew more than 12,000 missions, including air assaults, medical airlifts, reconnaissance and cargo movements.
