81-year-old killed while crossing Fayetteville street
An 81-year-old Pennsylvania man died Sunday from injuries he suffered when a car hit him while he tried crossing a local street, Fayetteville police said Monday.

A 2004 Mazda struck Milton Pier, of 274 Friendship Circle in Beaver, Penn., while he was walking across Cedar Creek Road around 9:38 p.m. He died from his injuries at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, authorities said.
The driver of the Mazda, Gertrude Carroll, 55, of 955 Lakewood School Road in Salemburg, was not injured in the wreck.
Charges have not been filed, and police continue to investigate the case.
