Winston-Salem, N.C. — An 8-month-old baby girl survived after being hit by bullets in four different places while sleeping in her bedroom in Winston-Salem on Friday.
The mother of little Jiya, Jade Green, credits the baby's big sister for saving her life.
Jiya's 11-year-old sister jumped into action after the shooting, calling 911 and applying pressure until police arrived.
The baby suffered injuries to her arm, tricep, back and lung, but when her parents saw her in the hospital she was responsive and talkative.
WXII reports Jiya is home from the hospital.
Police said the shooters targeted the wrong home at the Hunt Club Apartments.
