A shark headed south is swimming by the North Carolina coast on her journey down the eastern seaboard.

The shark-tracking site OCEARCH marked Gladee as 8-foot, 8 inches and 396 pounds. Gladee is a juvenile female white shark.

Gladee was pinged near the North Carolina/Virginia border on Sunday night just before 11 p.m.

On Oct. 1, 2020, Gladee was tagged outside Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Gladee is the fifth animal sampled during OCEARCH's Expedition Nova Scotia.

In June, a nearly 1,000-pound great white shark was hanging out along the eastern North Carolina coast.
