71-year-old man missing along Neuse River in New Bern
The Craven County Sheriff's Office is searching for Charles Wesley Vandiford, 71, who was last seen near the Bridgepointe Hotel and Marina along the Neuse River.

According to officials, Vandifold took a cab from his home in Vanceboro to the marina in New Bern around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The taxi driver said Vandiford was wearing a white crew neck sweater, light blue baggy pants and loafer type shoes. He was walking with a cane.
The N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Vandiford, described as a white man who stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds.
Anyone with information about Vandiford is asked to call the Craven County Sheriff's Office at 252-633-2357.
