Names released of the 7 shot, 3 killed in shooting at Wilmington house party

Seven people were shot and three were killed in a mass shooting in Wilmington overnight.

WILMINGTON, N.C. — Seven people were shot and three were killed in a mass shooting in Wilmington overnight.
The shooting occurred at a house party near the intersection of 8th and Kidder Streets around midnight, according to WECT. Officers found seven people shot at the home.

Two men and one teenage girl were killed: Zieyah Wade, age 22, Shamir Jones, age 21, Destiny Roland, age 16.

Shamir Jones, age 21, was shot and killed during the tragic shooting at the house party in Wilmington.

Four victims are currently stable and recovering at New Hanover Regional Medical Center: Zykeria Crawford, age 19, Zymiryon Atkins, age 18, Valery Orelus age 18, and Keyshawn James, age 21.

Two females and two males were injured.

Wilmington Police Chief Donny Williams said they don't feel the public is in any danger. A motive for the shooting is not known.

Destiny Roland, age 16, was shot and killed during the tragic shooting at the house party in Wilmington.

"We are still working to notify family members of this tragic event and are, therefore, unable to release the names of the victims at this time," police said.

Saturday's shooting comes a day after a man rammed a car into two officers at a barricade outside the U.S. Capitol.

Last month, 10 people were killed in a shooting at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado.
