ROCK HILL, S.C. — A 6th victim has died days after a shooting in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Investigators say former NFL player Phillip Adams shot residents inside the home and two HVAC technicians who were there for work.

Robert Shook, one of the technicians, called his supervisor after being shot. The supervisor then called 911.

Shook died Saturday at a Charlotte hospital after spending several days there fighting for his life.

Both HVAC technicians were based in Gastonia.

Investigators say Adams killed himself after the shooting. Adams, 32, played in 78 NFL games over six seasons for six teams.

Adams' brain will be tested for a degenerative disease that has affected a number of pro athletes and has been shown to cause violent mood swings and other cognitive disorders, according to the local coroner.
