AVON, N.C. — The data trackers at Ocearch have recorded a female great white shark they've named Rose making a circuit off the Carolina coast.

The 10-foot, 5-inch, 600-pound shark was named for Rose Bay in Nova Scotia, which is near where she was tagged by Ocearch on Oct. 4.

Her tag has pinged off the Outer Banks just about daily since late October and most recently Friday morning off the coast north of Avon and south of Rodanthe.
