<p>I'm meteorologist K Campbell in the Wral severe weather center was another summer scorcher out there. 97 was the high at RDU and 98 was the high in Fayetteville. You just have one day left of this heat though. And then temperatures begin to back off for the end of the week. Check out these numbers 86 degrees, the high Friday and Saturday, 89 Sunday and 87 on Monday, the big heat backs off. It's still going to feel like summer out there, but it's just not going to be so sweltering out. We've got a front on the way and that's one of the reasons we see this pattern change, the front is going to stall out over North Carolina. It doesn't quite get here during the day. Wednesday, but Wednesday does feature a better coverage of showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. There's a chance a few could be severe and we'll talk about that in a minute. Let's talk about Thursday because that is when the front arrives. We expect to see widespread showers and storms develop Thursday afternoon and evening and the rain could be heavy at times on Thursday, this front, right overhead, there's ample moisture available and the front should be able to just wring it out of the atmosphere so we could see some localized flooding Thursday, Friday. The threat looks like it may stall a little bit further to the south. Still a decent chance of rain and storms. We'll work to see if we can really pinpoint areas could see those storms as we get closer. It's about a 60% chance on Friday. The severe weather threat tomorrow is from the Triangle points north and west. This does include Chatham County and Rocky Mount, north and west damaging wind gusts would be the primary threat. And then later in the week, we've got the flood risk that begins to ramp up the flood risk more scattered Thursday and Friday before going back to low on Saturday. Here's your seven day forecast 97 degrees on Wednesday, Thursday, we are still in the low nineties for highs, but with that 80% chance of rain and storms out there, you're not going to be in direct sunlight at least Friday and Saturday. We've got a lot of clouds in the area, quite a bit of rain in the forecast that will last through the weekend. If you need to get stuff done outside, your best bet would be in the morning over the next several days. That's when rain chances are lowest and the heat is the least severe</p>

And come November. I plan on being the first black governor of North Carolina, but I am not one of the political elite. I grew up poor as the ninth of 10 kids in Greensboro with an alcoholic father who beat my mother. I love to tell you that I graduated from high school found success. Never worried about money again, but I can't. I lost two jobs, two manufacturing jobs because of NAFTA which by the way, Joe Biden voted for politicians in DC. I could see the fear on his face and it took me back to lying awake at night with that non worrying debating which bills weren't going to get paid. Unfortunately. Many families today are having that same experience under Joe Biden, grocery prices have skyrocketed and gas has nearly doubled in North Carolina factories just like the one I worked at are closing, leaving families feeling hopeless but there is hope and I'm proof my wife and I never gave up. We kept our faith. We worked hard and made it through those tough times. Now, I stand before you on the verge of becoming the first black governor of North Carolina as governor. I will not forget where I came from or the struggles of the people I meet. And you know, there's someone else who will fight just as hard for you. President Donald J Trump, the brave heart of our time. President Trump has our, had our economy roaring gas was up below $2. Unemployment was at a historic low people could afford homes and we had a president who protected manufacturing jobs under President Trump. THIS IS NOT BASED, REALLY, ON IMMUNITY, IT'S BASED ON THE APPOINTMENTS CLAUSE OF THE CONSTITUTION AND ALSO THE APPROPRIATIONS CLAUSE, WHICH THE COURT DIDN'T EVEN REACH, BUT IMPLIED THAT THAT WOULD BE A GROUNDS FOR TOSSING THE CASE AS WELL. AND THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS, THE APPOINTMENTS CLAUSE REQUIRES, IN THE CONSTITUTION, THAT SOMEONE LIKE JACK SMITH, ACCORDING TO THE COURT, BE APPOINTED BY THE DOJ, OR BY THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH, BUT IT MUST BE CONFIRMED BY THE SENATE. AND SO THE ARGUMENT THERE IS THAT THIS VIOLATES THAT PORTION OF THE CONSTITUTION BECAUSE JACK SMITH WAS NOT APPOINTED THROUGH THIS PROCEDURE AND THE JUDGE ESSENTIALLY SAYS, THERE'S A WAY TO DO THIS. YOU CAN APPOINT JACK SMITH THE WAY ALL U.S. ATTORNEYS ARE APPOINTED. &gt;&gt; DANNY, THE SPECIAL COUNSEL, IF HE WANTS TO, COULD TRY TO APPEAL THIS RULING NOW TO THE 11th CIRCUIT, THE FEDERAL APPEALS COURT, BUT GIVEN HOW THINGS ARE GOING, GIVEN THE TIMING ISSUES, THIS, OF COURSE, HAS NO HOPE OF ANY RESOLUTION BEFORE THE ELECTION. &gt;&gt; IT HAD LITTLE HOPE OF GETTING TO TRIAL BEFORE THE ELECTION, NOW IT HAS ZERO CHANCE BECAUSE THE -- WHOEVER APPEALS, OBVIOUSLY THE JACK SMITH TEAM WILL APPEAL AND YES, IT WILL GO UP TO THE CIRCUIT COURT. NOW, I SAY THAT, AND AS YOU KNOW, LAURA, FEDERAL COURTS HAVE A LOT OF POWER, CIRCUIT COURTS CAN PUT THINGS ON HIGH SPEED IN A WAY THEY CAN'T IN OTHER CASES, IT'S THEORETICALLY THIS COULD BE DECIDED IN A MATTER OF WEEKS BUT IT WILL NOT BE IN ALL LIKELIHOOD IF DONALD TRUMP IS ELECTED THIS FEDERAL CASE IS LIKELY OVER AND MAYBE THE OTHER FEDERAL CASE AGAINST DONALD TRUMP IN D.C. AS A RESULT, AT LEAST TANGENTIALLY OF THIS DECISION, EVEN THOUGH THIS DECISION HAS NO PRECEDENT THERE, NO CONTROLLING VALUE OVER JUDGE CHUTKAN IN D.C.
