50-Year-Old Woman Shot in Raleigh
Officers found a 50-year-old woman with gunshot wounds around the 2200 block of East Millbrook Road on Wednesday night.
Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — A shooting left a 50-year-old woman wounded in Raleigh Wednesday night, police said.
Police officers responded to calls about gunshots around the 2200 block of East Millbrook Road, near the intersection with Atlantic Avenue, shortly before 8 p.m.
Officers found the woman, who had bullet wounds in her leg and hip. She was transported to WakeMed for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Officers located and detained a male suspect in a nearby wooded area a short time later.
The suspect and the victim are acquaintances involved in an ongoing dispute, officers said.
The name of the suspect is being withheld while charges are being filed. Police withheld the victim’s name pending notification of her family.
