RALEIGH, N.C. — A 5-year-old girl has died after she was pulled from a swimming pool in northern Wake County on Saturday, authorities said Monday.

Geoffrey and Courtney Brock and their family were at a pool party at a home in the 5300 block of Winding View Lane, off Creedmoor Lane.

Courtney Brock told authorities she and others were watching children in the pool. She looked away for a few minutes and then didn't see her daughter Izzy in the pool when she turned back, Brock told authorities.

Witnesses said the girl was found at the bottom of the pool in a shaded area. It's unclear how long she was underwater.

Two party guests were doctors, and they immediately started performing CPR on her after she was pulled from the water, authorities said. They were able to restore her pulse before paramedics arrived.

An ambulance with a police escort rushed the girl to WakeMed.

According to an email sent to parents from Ravenscroft School, where Izzy was a pre-kindergarten student, the Brocks have decided to donate her organs.

"We acknowledge this information is very difficult to read. Please continue to lift up the Brock family in your thoughts and prayers," the statement said.

Counselors were at Ravenscroft on Monday to help students as needed.
