4 Charged With Cockfighting
Four men have been charged after Moore County authorities broke up a cockfight.
Posted — UpdatedDeputies found evidence of a cockfight at 667 Alex Road last Friday, including spurs and fighting accessories. They saw several men running into the woods as they arrived at the residence, authorities said.
Two dead chickens and two badly injured chickens were at the residence, and Moore County animal control officers were called to the scene to assist with the investigation, authorities said.
The following men have been charged with one count each of felony cockfighting and four counts each of felony cruelty to animals: Jorge Huerta Balderas, 36, of 667 Alex Road, Alfonso Garcia, 33, of 667 Alex Road, Martin Vera Bocanegra, 39, of Lot 11 Sunset Mobile Home Park in Robbins, and Luis Miguel Vilchis-Hernandez, 22, of 499 Lemonds Drive in Candor.
