3 people, including a child, flown to trauma centers after serious crash in Sanford

A truck hauling concrete supplies and towing a trailer loaded with equipment crashed into a pickup truck, injuring three people, including one child.

SANFORD, N.C. — Three people, including one child, were flown by helicopter to area trauma centers after a serious accident.

A large truck hauling concrete supplies and towing a trailer loaded with equipment crashed into a pickup truck at the intersection of NC Highway 87 and Commerce Drive in Sanford on Saturday morning.

The pickup truck was T-boned by the other vehicle.

A serious crash in Sanford lead to three people, including a child, being helicoptered to trauma centers.

Officials reported that the victims were "difficult extrications" and had serious injuries.

The roadway was shut down in several directions while police investigated.
