22-year-old injured in road rage shooting on I-440

— A 22-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in a road rage shooting incident that occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Friday, Raleigh police said.

The driver, identified as Alexus Kiera Thomas of Durham, was being treated at WakeMed in Raleigh. The passenger in the car was uninjured.

Eastbound lanes of Interstate 440 reopened around 8:50 p.m. after a temporary closure between Glenwood Avenue and Six Forks Road.

Police have not released information on a suspect, and the investigation is underway.
