22-year-old dies after being shot on Burgundy Street in Raleigh

One person was shot in Raleigh on the 1600 Block of Burgundy Street at around 2 a.m. Saturday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police officers responded to a call concerning a shooting at around 1:42 a.m. on Saturday.

Upon arrival, officers located a gunshot victim. Jewan Merkel Philip, 22, was transported to Wake Med, but died as a result of his injuries.
