A Hamas hostage's family and a 109-year-old woman will be among the North Carolina guests attending tonight's State of the Union address.

The family of this Chapel Hill man, Keith Seigel, will be there tonight.

Keith and his wife, Aviva were taken hostage by Hamas during the Oct. 7 attack. Aviva was released. But Keith is still being held hostage. Keith’s sister and niece will be representing the family.

They will be attending as Senator Ted Budd and Thom Tillis’ guests. Both senators said they are working to bring Keith home safely.

Representative Don Davis from North Carolina will also be bringing a special guest: 109-year-old Cassie Smith. Davis said she voted on the first day of early voting and is a living symbol of our democracy. Smith lives in Battleboro.

Rep. Valerie Foushee (D-Orange) is bringing Durham gun violence prevention activist Lavern Lucier. Lucier's son Syncere Burrell was murdered in 2020.

You can watch the State of the Union address right here on WRAL News and FOX50 at 9 p.m.
