Two men charged in shooting death of 21-year-old in Wilson

Two men have been charged in the May 2 death of 21-year-old Amaru C. Carroll-Lee.

WILSON, N.C. — Two men have been charged in the May 2 death of 21-year-old Amaru C. Carroll-Lee.

Carroll-Lee was shot in Wilson on Saturday night around 10 p.m., according to officials.

When officers arrived at the scene on the 800 block of Selma Street near Tarboro Street, police say they "attempted lifesaving efforts," but Carroll-Lee died at the scene.

On May 3, Wilson police arrested Terry L. Parker, 44, and charged him with first-degree murder and first-degree burglary in connection to Carroll-Lee's death. On May 6, officers charged Telly S. Parker, 35, with first-degree murder and first-degree burglary after he turned himself into police. Both were being held without bond.

The Wilson Police Department is still actively investigating the case.
