Here at William Piece University students like freshmen Cameron Copley are packing up and heading out That's three days to move everything out of our dorms  Copley will finish the semester at home in Durham The university canceled in person classes and we'll switch to online instruction starting Monday in case things go I think that's the best idea right now That way you know we're all together and like one said Monique To Lash the marketing director for Peace says the school is working to make the transition as smooth as possible Right now they're in the process of making those adjustments to their curriculum so that when they do present those online courses that it's the experience that they want to give the students alleged says Students are encouraged to go home Students who can't the trip actually you can select a seat in the car This is where Nea Maya Stewart and his brand new car pooling app called Vector rideshare come in The AP targets the campus community I want to ride toe bring in bees and butterflies My favorite is to see what Chris Smith of the Natural Sciences Museum is serious about protecting wildlife There are types of the animals that live right here in our backyards Don't live anywhere else They need a space to be able to thrive and grow by setting aside places by supporting conservation Ever waken help to protect those species as well as the ones that we see Maybe all the time Triangle Area has a lot of opportunity like Lake Johnson Park for you to get out and enjoy nature I can't think of anyone who does not benefit from conservation It's easy to help You can donate time volunteer You can donate money but really things like recycling Composting work starts when you're young So hopefully that will carry on when they get older  And they're not it's still needs some repairs Most of the first code is up enslaved workers by hand cutting everyone in these boards Hubbard discovered the names of some of the slaves who built the home have been recorded incorrectly during the restoration process The museum director decided to right a wrong and make a plaque with the correct spelling of the names The newest thing now is if you come and walk around the grounds and you find that monument There is a physical reminder here Thes 43 people lived and labored in enslavement and of what they built Notably We have Hercules Although the restoration in mine mint have more work to do visitors can still see the vision that was blurred along the way Now if you want to see the names on the plaque for yourself the museum is open while renovations are I'm meteorologist, Kat Campbell in the wr a severe weather center. No more thirties in the forecast and we don't have a frost threat tonight so you can leave your plants be, temperatures are falling into the upper forties to lower fifties overnight. We've got a different wind direction and some more clouds that will fill in by daybreak tomorrow at the bus stop, it'll be in the low to mid fifties for most of the kids out there. So a mild start, but you may want to send your kids to school with an umbrella because by the time they head home, some of us are going to be dealing with a chance for rain during the afternoon. It's all due to this cold front. Approaching from the northwest. There's not a lot of moisture for the front to work with, but just enough and enough lift to squeeze out some rain. I think that rain chances would start in our northwestern counties around 11 a.m. through lunchtime. And then that chance is really closer to, to three o'clock here in the triangle. But that might be when the kids are heading home as we get toward 456. It would be south and east of the triangle with the best chance for rain. Rocky Mount, Southern Pines. I'm thinking you'll be in that 3 to 5 p.m. time frame for rain. It's not going to be a very heavy rain. There is a small chance of a thunderstorm embedded, but most of us will just see some pretty light rain. In fact, models are showing less than 5/100 of an inch of rain. So very tiny rainfall amounts from this event. We do have the Durham Bulls in town this week. And luckily the forecast looks good for all of their home games. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We've just got wonderful baseball weather. Temperatures will be near 70 for the first pitches and the rain should be over in Durham, the triangle by the time we get to dinner time for tomorrow evening, which means it's likely to be a dry game for us. Your seven day forecast show, some big changes are on the way though. We've got 74 for the high Wednesday with chance for rain Thursday just 72. So a small dip in our high temperatures more noticeable at night though we fall into the upper forties Thursday night to Friday morning, we're going with 47 as the low Friday morning around the triangle. And then once we get to the weekend temperatures begin to rebound. However, that will come with an increasing cloud cover mostly cloudy Saturday and Sunday. But back in the eighties by Sunday and even warmer next week, highs could climb near 90 a week from today.
