Animal advocates claim 2013 Triangle Christmas Tree Challenge

The trees were on display at Diamond View Park in Durham. This year's theme was the "Island of Misfit Toys."
The SPCA of Wake County came in first place, the Coalition to Unchain Dogs came in second place and Best Friend Pet Adoption came in third place.
In the Celebrity Choice Award category, the winners were the Museum of Life and Science, Durham Economic Resource Center and Women's Birth & Wellness Center.
The FOX 50 Community First Award was awarded to the American Dance Festival. The DPAC Community Star Award was awarded to 3/20 Water Sports, and the Wool E. Bull Prime Cut Award winner was Durham Interfaith Hospitality Network.
