Raleigh, N.C. — An overnight crash left dozens of northern Wake County residents without power early Monday morning.
The crash occurred around 11 p.m. on Old Creedmoor Road near Patrie Place. Troopers at the scene said a Dodge Challenger was traveling south on Old Creedmoor Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, striking a mailbox, power pole and tree.
The driver was ejected and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The passenger has a broken arm. Both are believed to be teenagers.
Up to 125 customers in the area were without power after the crash, which damaged power equipment, according to Duke Energy. The outage was expected to be restored by 7 a.m.
