Witnesses report over a dozen gunshots near Durham store where multiple men were shot

Durham police are on a scene on Cornwallis Road, where witnesses say they heard over a dozen gunshots.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police were called to a scene on Cornwallis Road around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, when two men were shot near a gas station.

Both men were taken to the hospital with injuries described as "non-life-threatening."

Witnesses describe hearing dozens of rounds of gunfire.

Multiple police vehicles were seen surrounding the gas station, with yellow tape partially blocking some lanes of the intersection. Orange evidence markers could be seen out in the roadway, and shell casings could be seen spread out around the scene.

At least one gas pump had several bullet holes.

There is no update yet on what lead up to the shooting or the identities of the men. WRAL News will update the story as more details are released.
