2 killed in fiery crash in Benson

The crash involving a pickup truck happened on the stretch of the highway between Church and Ennis roads around 1 a.m.

Authorities said the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree, causing the truck to catch fire. A man and woman inside the truck died.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said the driver of the truck was traveling at over 100 miles per hour when they went off the road. The people killed haven't been identified yet.
