2 Killed in Fayetteville Wreck

Skibo Road in Fayetteville reopened Monday more than four hours after a fatal accident.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Skibo Road in Fayetteville reopened Monday more than four hours after a fatal accident, police said.

The accident occurred at around 3:15 a.m. in the 1900 block of Skibo Road. A Toyota Camry traveling north crossed the center line and  collided head-on with a Hyundai Elantra driven by Clarice V. Black, 30, of 6512 Sudbury Drive, police said.

Black and Harland Arthur Lewis, 44, also of 6512 Sudbury Drive, were killed in the wreck.

The driver of the Camry, Anthony McSwain, 33, of 1144 Merry Maple Lane, was airlifted to UNC Hospitals and was listed in critical condition.

Police had to close a portion of Skibo Road between Cliffdale and Morganton roads to conduct their investigation.

Charges haven't yet been filed in the accident, which remains under investigation.
