RAEFORD, N.C. — Investigators were on the scene of a shooting in Hoke County that left two people dead and one person injured on Monday night.

The shooting took place at the splash pad and baseball field on Red Springs Road in Raeford. There were children playing softball on the field at the time of the shooting, according to officials.

Officials say they believe the shooting was drug-related.

Authorities said two people —Nakoya Maynor, 25, and Zyrique Grace, 22, — were shot and then drove to Piney Mobile Home Park. The pair were found dead in a car there.

The third gunshot victim who survived is a 20-year-old man.

One person is facing charges of first-degree murder, but police did not release that name.

Authorities ask that if anyone has information about this crime, they call 910-875-5111.
