2 Charged in Cary Credit Union Robbery

It happened about 10:49 a.m. at the Coastal Federal Credit Union at 401 N. Harrison Ave.

CARY, N.C. — Cary police have charged two men in a robbery that happened Wednesday morning at the Coastal Federal Credit Union at 401 N. Harrison Ave.

Town of Cary spokeswoman April Little said a man walked into the bank, showed a handgun and demanded money. He left with an undisclosed amount.

Desmond Lamon Garrett, 29, of 102 Bay Berry Lane in Youngsville, is suspected of actually holding up the teller.

Thomas Clayton, 16, of E-54 in the Oaks at Northgate apartments, 1306 Leon St. in Durham, is suspected of driving the getaway car.
