2 businesses damaged in Hillsborough strip mall fire

Two businesses burned in a fire at a Hillsborough strip mall Saturday morning, officials said.

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Two businesses burned in a fire at a Hillsborough strip mall Saturday morning, officials said.

The fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. and damaged Los Lago Meat Market and Triangle Environmental Services on Churton Street.

The Orange Rural, Efland, Eno and New Hope fire departments responded and contained the fire within four hours, the town of Hillsborough said.

One Orange Rural firefighter suffered a minor injury.

Triangle Environmental Services was destroyed, town officials said. Los Lago Meat Market sustained smoke, fire and water damage.

Officials were investigating the cause of the fire.
