2 arrested after chase -- in cars, on foot -- near Benson

State troopers were trying to stop a suspect vehicle when the driver led them on a chase that ended on Woodall Dairy Road, just south of the North Carolina Highway 242 exit off Interstate 40 (Exit 325). Troopers did not say why they wanted to stop the car.

Law enforcement officers blanketed the area, looking for the two people who had run from the car.

During the search, they asked residents to stay indoors and to report any suspicious activity.
