Both people who caught this disease recently stated this hotel, the Clarion Pointe Hotel in Wake Forest Wr Slc Marino joins us live from the hotel with what you should do if you or someone you know recently stayed here. Yeah guys both individuals have received treatment and are now recovering before getting sick though they both stayed at this hotel here in Wake Forest experts say if you or anyone you know recently stayed here you should contact your physician right away. The Wake County Health Department is investigating two cases of legionnaires potentially tied to the Clarion Pointe Hotel in Wake Forest legionnaire's disease is rare but serious. Um It looks just like any other case of pneumonia. And the only way that you can tell whether or not it's legionnaires is to get tested. Legionnaire's disease is a type of pneumonia caused by a type of bacteria called legionella that is usually found in water and is contracted by breathing in tiny droplets that contain the bacteria. Health experts at U. N. C. Say the bacteria is not normally transmitted person to person but can be extremely dangerous for some people who have a weakened immune system. The elderly and anyone who has any sort of Chronic lung condition including smoking. Wake County is encouraging anyone who visited the hotel between May one and June 2 to look out for any of these symptoms cough, shortness of breath, muscle aches, headaches and fever, and those symptoms are very similar to covid symptoms, doctors say.
