Henderson family continues decades long tradition of baking pineapple upside-down cake for first responders
Ann Ellis is 99 and lives in Henderson. In 1962, her house caught fire. Lucky for her, firefighters responded quickly, put out the blaze and saved her home. Every year since, at this time of year, Granny Ellis has baked upside-down pineapple cakes in the shape of Christmas trees and given them to the firefighters--and to other first responders, too.
