<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — An 18-wheeler transporting a large piece of construction equipment struck the Pullen Road bridge over Western Boulevard in Raleigh Wednesday morning, police said.

One westbound lane of Western Boulevard remains closed as crews clean up wreckage.

The bridge has been reopened since state Department of Transportation inspectors have determined it is safe for use, police said.

All westbound lanes of Western Boulevard and the Pullen Road bridge were closed for about an hour-and-a-half.
