18 vehicle break-ins reported in Chapel Hill Monday
The Chapel Hill Police Department reported there were 18 vehicle break-ins on Monday.

The break-ins were reported in the Chandler Woods community, on Abbot Place and near Homestead Park. In each case, vehicles were unlocked, officials said.
Three vehicles were stolen in the area around 3 a.m. Monday.
Officials asked residents in the area to remove firearms and valuables from their cars and to always lock their vehicles.
Officers are working to find a suspect in these cases. If anyone has information about these crimes, they are encouraged to call Chapel Hill-Carrboro-UNC Crime stoppers at 919-942-7515. Anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest could be given a reward of up to $2,000.
