Everyone. Meteorologist Peter shed in the W weather center. Today's weather alert day, the system is going to continue to move across the southeast of bringing showers and thunderstorms and some could be strong to severe mainly for our south and eastern counties. We're going to be dealing with some of the heavy rainfall this morning and in a few thunderstorms developing as we head into the afternoon and evening, some could be strong to severe mainly across south and eastern counties. So here's a look at our level one and level two severe risk that level two severe risk mainly confined across portions of Cumberland and Sampson County. The storm prediction center went ahead and shift that severe risk a little bit more towards the southeast as the storm energy continues to weaken across our region. We are going to watch for drier conditions to move in for Sunday so it's not going to be a washout type of weekend. We do have washout type conditions going on for this morning though and that will continue into the lunch hour before drier conditions move in as we head into the afternoon. It's not going to rain for all of us all day long in some spots, especially across the triangle and areas, the north and west will see some drier conditions come this afternoon. The south and east, that's where we're going to watch. A line of showers and thunderstorms develop and that line does have that potential of being strong to severe. But damaging wind speeds in an isolated tornado cannot be rolled out as well. That is going to head towards the south and east with drier conditions moving in for this evening and overnight showers will clear out and give way to sunshine as we head into Sunday. The flooding potential is also there. We have a medium risk of it for all those areas outlined in yellow, including portions of the triangle to the east. We cannot rule out up to an inch and a quarter of rainfall across our region with some higher totals up to an inch and a half. Today, we are going to also get our temperatures to gradually climb into the sixties with a high of 63 degrees for this afternoon. Those wind speeds picking up for tomorrow. So it is going to be a breezy day with a high of 60 then that warm up will move in 71 on Tuesday. Sunshine out there 80 degrees. By the time we head into Friday, we're tracking a warming week ahead to get ready for that type of week where you'll need the layers on Monday and then you'll need the shorts and flip flops as we head into Friday.
