17-year-old shot multiple times during Sanford home invasion

Sanford, N.C. — A 17-year-old was shot multiple times during a home invasion early Wednesday morning in Sanford.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said thee masked men entered the home at 2710 Pine Acres Drive at about 4 a.m. and at least one of the men began shooting at the teen.
Authorities said the 17-year-old was taken by his mother to an area hospital, where he was treated for multiple non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
Three other people inside the home were not injured, deputies said.
The shooting remains under investigation, but authorities said they do not believe it was a random incident.
