17-year-old shot in downtown Raleigh

Raleigh police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon on Dorthea Drive. Officials have confirmed the victim has been transported to WakeMed.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are investigating the shooting of a 17-year-old male that occurred Sunday afternoon on Dorthea Drive.

Shortly after 5 p.m., police responded to a report of the shooting on the 400 block of Dorthea Drive and arrived to find the victim with a gunshot wound in his leg.

The victim was transported to WakeMed with a non-life-threatening injury.

Detectives were on the scene and at the hospital searching for information for a description of the suspect.
