RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police responded to a shooting call Saturday night and found Traveon Antwane Hayes, 19, shot inside a vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot in the 6500 block of Suburban Drive.

Hayes, of 1215 S. Bloodworth St., had been shot multiple times and died after emergency crews took him to WakeMed, police said.

Authorities arrested Joshua Daiwan Simmons, 17, in Garner on Sunday morning and charged him with murder. Simmons, of 7115-1C Sandy Forks Road in Raleigh, was being held in the Wake County Jail.

"The investigation of the case determined that the crime was not a random act. It is believed the shooting stemmed from a dispute," Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue said in a statement.
