17-year-old charged with murder in death of Harnett County man
A 17-year-old was arrested Tuesday in connection with the death of a Harnett County man last month.
Posted — UpdatedThe Harnett County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday night said Alma Isabel Correa Portillo, of 93 Foxfield Court in Angier, was charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Jarell Donte Ballentine, 18, of Angier, was also charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Jarrett’s father, William, said his son was working in the construction business with him and had one semester to go to obtain a bachelor’s degree so he could become a history teacher.
Authorities said the investigation into Jarrett’s death is ongoing.
