17-year-old boy walks into WakeMed with gunshot wound

Raleigh police were investigating after they said a 17-year-old male was shot Friday night.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 17-year-old boy was shot in Raleigh on Friday night.

Officials said that the boy walked into WakeMed at around 8:30 p.m. with a gunshot wound.

After police investigated, they determined he had been shot at the 3500 block of New Bern Avenue.

The gunshot injury that the teen suffered was not life-threatening.

Officials did not release any other details about how the teen was shot.
