And, don’t forget: All of the region’s corn mazes and pumpkin patches are open for the season, along with haunted mazes and attractions. Our database has details. Some will close this weekend. Others will remain open for the next week or two.

Raleigh

Our Body: The Universe Within, dubbed an "eye-opening and educational exhibit" that features actual human bodies, will return to Raleigh starting this weekend. The exhibit, which stopped in Raleigh a decade ago, will open at Triangle Town Center in north Raleigh on Saturday for an extended run. It's scheduled to remain here until at least Feb. 28. Tickets are between $15 and $17.
OMAi, the video artists who specialize in telling animated stories on building exteriors, will return to Raleigh for the next couple of weeks. They’ll showcase their art starting Saturday at St. Augustine’s University.
Raleigh Little Theatre continues its run of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." The show, part of the theater’s youth series, was scheduled to close this weekend. But, because of popular demand, it’s been extended through Nov. 4.
The 33rd annual International Festival of Raleigh runs Friday through Sunday at the Raleigh Convention Center in downtown Raleigh. Tickets are $6 for kids ages 6 to 18 and $8 for adults. The event features groups representing countries from around the world, amazing food and lots of cultural performances. It’s also very kid friendly.
Fall Fest at Dix Park is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, at the park near downtown Raleigh. The family-friendly event includes food, drinks, activities for kids, live entertainment and more. Admission is free.
Marbles Kids Museum’s Kooky Spooky Halloween Party is 6 p.m .to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, at the downtown Raleigh museum. Tickets are $18. The evening includes special Halloween-themed activities and after hours play in the museum. This one is best for younger kids and their adults.
And, hello! How about an all-dessert food event! NC Sugar Rush’s Halloween Edition is 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, in the 200 block of East Martin Street in downtown Raleigh. The more than 20 vendors will be selling ice cream, cheesecake, donuts, cupcakes, cake and more. There also will be face painters and balloon artists for the kids.

Durham

Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University hosts a free family day. It’s noon to 4:30 p.m., Sunday. The theme is “Picture This: A Fantastic Photographic Fall Festival.” Costumes are welcome during the event, which will include a costume fashion show and a Paperhand Puppet-led musical parade around the museum. Participants are encouraged to bring a used children’s book to donate to Book Harvest.
Durham Public School will host its 2018 Magnet Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, at Southern High School, 800 Clayton Rd. Learn all about the school system’s magnet programs.
Barktoberfest is 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, at Durham Central Park, 501 Foster St. The free event features dog-friendly activities, including a costume contest for dogs and performances from an interactive trick dog show. There also will be music and more.
And Duke Homestead will hold its Halloween Phantasmagoria from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday. Learn all about historical concepts of Spiritualism, awe and wonder from the 19th century, and then wander around the historic site's grounds. It’s designed for all ages - no experiences are designed to scare, according to the website. Bring a flashlight.

Chapel Hill

Wild Mind Improv will host a special Trick Or Treat Improv Show for all ages at PIT Chapel Hill, 462 W. Franklin St. Costumes are welcome for this Halloween-themed show. Tickets are $10 and $6 for kids.
Paperhand Puppet Intervention will hold a live show featuring some of its one-of-a-kind puppets Saturday at Southern Village. The day starts at 2 p.m. with pre-show entertainment before Paperhand takes the stage. Tickets are $5 per person and will benefit the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation.

Cary

Fall for Cary is 1 p.m .to 6 p.m., Saturday, on South Academy Street in downtown Cary. The day includes food, music and a kids’ zone.

Holly Springs

HollyFest is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, at Sugg Farm Park at Bass Lake, 2401 Grigsby Ave. The free event includes a kids’ zone with inflatables, activities and games, live entertainment, an arts and crafts fair, and a fire truck and police vehicles on display.

Morrisville

Wake Tech’s RTP Campus will host an open house from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday. Designed for high school students, counselors and parents, the open house offers a chance to learn more about the college’s programs and resources.
