<b>SMITHFIELD, N.C.</b> — A 15-year-old boy was shot before 6:30 a.m. Monday along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Furlong Drive.

According to the Smithfield Police Department, the boy was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

There was no suspect information available, but the captain said police were "working multiple leads."
