14-year-old charged with attempted murder after gun fight in Lumberton parking lot

A 14-year-old has been charged with attempted first-degree murder following a Saturday night parking lot shooting.

LUMBERTON, N.C. — A 14-year-old has been charged with attempted first-degree murder following a Saturday night parking lot shooting.

On Saturday after 10 p.m., officers responded to a shopping center at the corner of Fayetteville Road and Roslyn Drive, near Aldi and Bravo Pleasant Pizza in Lumberton.

Officer said two teenagers, ages 14 and 15, were shot in the parking lot and taken to a hospital.

According to investigators, a group of teenagers started fighting in the parking lot before the two were shot.

On Sunday, officers arrested a 14-year-old in connection with the shooting. The teen is charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

The 15-year-old who was shot was in critical condition. The condition of the second victim was not provided.
