14-year-old boy shot near downtown Raleigh

— A 14-year-old boy was shot late Sunday night near downtown Raleigh.

The shooting occurred before 11 p.m. in the 400 block of Dorothea Drive at the Heritage Park apartment complex. Officers with the Raleigh Police Department were called to WakeMed, when the teenager checked himself into the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A follow-up investigation is currently underway.
