14 men, including UNC professor and Durham County EMS worker, charged with soliciting prostitution

Fourteen men were arrested in a prostitution sting, the Alamance County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Fourteen men were arrested in a prostitution sting, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday, including a professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an EMS worker for Durham County.

The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations conducted the operation, which targeted potential prostitution clients.

Richard Jordan Edinger, the EMS worker, was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and had a $500 bond. He is also a part-time medical examiner in Alamance County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Jason Peter Fine, a professor of biostatistics at UNC-Chapel Hill, was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and had a $1,000 bond.

In the operation, $1,725 was seized.

14 men charged with soliciting prostitution

The following individuals were also arrested:

  • Gary Wayne Hatfield was charged with felony solicitation of prostitution and had a $10,000 bond.
  • Christopher Neal Martin was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and had a $1,200 bond.
  • Andy Dwayne Durham was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and had a $500 bond.
  • Michael Jones was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and had a $500 bond.
  • Guillermo Mendez was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and had a $500 bond.
  • James Derek Chiasson was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and had a $2,500 bond.
  • Robert Louis Ulmer was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and had a $500 bond.
  • Salah Khan was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and had a $500 bond.
  • Jesse James Carty was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and had a $500 bond.
  • Gardener Noah Succop was charged with was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He had a $1,200 bond.
  • David Author Welch was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and possession of marijuana and had a $1,200 bond.
  • Michael Wayne Sellars was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution, possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He had a $40,000 bond.
