13-year-old shot in Henderson
A 13-year-old girl was shot while sitting inside a vehicle in Henderson Wednesday night, police said.

HENDERSON, N.C. — A 13-year-old girl was shot while sitting inside a vehicle in Henderson Wednesday night, police said.
The incident happened at about 6 p.m. near the intersection of Clark Street and East Andrews Avenue, police said. The victim, Kenyetta Hawkins, was in the vehicle, located in the parking lot of "The Spot," when gunfire erupted.
Investigators said the girl was not involved in the shooting. Her injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, police said.
