ZEBULON, N.C. — A 13-year-old is facing charges after authorities said the teen made threats against Zebulon Middle School on social media.

Police said a threat was made Wednesday night on SnapChat, warning people to stay away from the school because of an impending act of violence.

Police on Friday located the 13-year-old who made the post and charged the teen with felony communication of a threat of mass violence on an educational property.

The teen was not identified because of their age.

Investigators determined that students and staff at Zebulon Middle School were never in danger.
