RALEIGH, N.C. — A boy is recovering after being struck by a car while trick-or-treating Wednesday night.

Giovanni Isiduo ran across New Hope Road near Capital Boulevard around 8 p.m. Wednesday in a dark part of the road outside of the crosswalk, according to a Raleigh police wreck report.

Shaune Danielle Johnson, of South Mills, didn't see Isiduo and struck him while driving south on New Hope Road, the report says.

Isiduo was hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday night. His father said Thursday that he was still in the hospital with leg and head injuries.

It is unknown if Johnson will face charges.

Editor's Note: Police informed WRAL News that the victim was a 12-year-old boy, then said the victim was an 11-year-old girl. The story has been corrected to reflect an update from Raleigh officials that the victim is a boy. His age has not been released.
