Here's what's happening on the family fun front this weekend.

Raleigh

Raleigh's indoor playground at Greystone Recreation Center will host a sensory-friendly day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, June 9. The free event will feature arts, movement, play and more. It's intended for individuals with sensory processing and autism spectrum disorders.
Ducks Unlimited will host Family Day at Orvis on Wade Avenue. It's 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Sunday, June 9. You can visit with trainers and dogs from Wildrose Carolinas, practice fly rod casting and more.
The NC Museum of Art has two outdoor movies this weekend. The Princess Bride is on the big screen starting at 9 p.m., Friday, June 7. And Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse starts at 9 p.m., Saturday, June 8. Tickets are $7. Kids 6 and under are free.
The Raleigh International Festival is noon to 10 p.m., Saturday, June 8, at City Plaza. The afternoon includes performances, bands and food from around the world.
And from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, June 9, the Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo will take over parts of downtown, featuring dozens of food trucks.

Durham

Historic Stagville will host Juneteenth at Stagville from noon to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 8. The free event commemorates emancipation at Stagville with children's activities, open hearth cooking demonstrations, special tours and reenactors.
The Museum of Life and Science will host Countdown to Launch on Saturday, June 8. This family friendly event features everything space—visitors can take part in hands-on aerospace activities, meet local space enthusiasts and NASA/JPL ambassadors, and explore the universe in the StarLab dome, according to the museum's website. It's free with admission, which is $21 and $16 for kids ages 3 to 12.

Cary

Cary's Pimento Cheese Festival is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 8, in downtown Cary. The day includes live music, cheese sculpting and food trucks.

Holly Springs

A Kids Obstacle Challenge is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Sugg Farm. You can purchase tickets for the Family Wave, for kids ages 5 to 16, including their parents or guardians, or the Competitive Wave for kids ages 10 to 16 only. The event is part of a national series of obstacle challenges for kids ages 5 to 16, who will race through 13 to 15 "fun and challenging" obstacles and mud, according to the event's Facebook page.
The Holly Springs Salamanders, a collegiate summer baseball league, will celebrate Star Wars Night during its 6:30 p.m., Saturday, June 8, game. The team will wear specially-designed jerseys and feature Star Wars character appearances, according to the team's website. Tickets start at $8.75. Kids 3 and under do not need a ticket if they sit on their parent's lap.

New Hill

New Hope Valley Railway will host its first Slow Down Sunday ride of 2019 on Sunday, June 9. Trains depart at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. On the ride, you'll travel 12 miles-per-hour through scenic woods in southwestern Wake County. Tickets cost $10 for adults, $9 for seniors (ages 60+), $7 for children (ages 2-12), and are free for infants under two years of age when sitting in the lap of an adult ticket holder.

Wake Forest

The town will host a Family Fitness Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 8, at Joyner Park, 701 Harris Rd. Free and open to the public, the Family Fitness Fair will feature Zumba, Yoga, cooking demonstrations, fitness classes, local health and fitness vendors and tons of family fun, according to the town.
