11-foot alligator breaks into Florida woman's home

No one wants to experience a burglar busting into their home and most people really don't want to see an 11-foot alligator breaking into their residence.

CLEARWATER, FLA. — No one wants to experience a burglar busting into their home and most people really don't want to see an 11-foot alligator breaking into their residence.

But that's what happened to a woman in Clearwater, Florida, who called police to report that the gator had made a very unwelcome entrance into her house, according to a Facebook post by Clearwater police.

"The 11-foot-long gator broke into the home through some low windows in the kitchen," the police department posted on its page. "The gator was captured and there were no injuries."

Authorities said that shortly before 3:30 a.m. newspaper delivery woman saw what she described as a large alligator acting in an aggressive manner in the middle of road. She said the gator made a run toward the front of a nearby home before she head a loud crash.

The woman called 911.

A few minutes later, the homeowner called 911 to report that a large alligator was inside her kitchen.

Police and a trapper responded to the woman's home and escorted the alligator out.

It was not immediately clear where the gator came from.
