10-year-old struck, driver arrested in Burlington

A driver was arrested Sunday after a pedestrian crash involving a 10-year-old.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A driver was arrested Sunday after a pedestrian crash involving a 10-year-old.

Officers with the Burlington Police Department responded to the 200 block of Joy Drive around 9 p.m.

Police said the child was struck, and the driver fled the scene. The child was flown to a nearby hospital by helicopter. The condition of the child is unknown.

Police said Cody Lee Struck, 23, of Burlington, was charged with felony hit and run and driving while impaired. Struck was being held in the Alamance County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond.
