10-year-old girl, 41-year-old man killed in Rocky Mount crash

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police are investigating a crash that left two people dead Wednesday afternoon.

Police said a pick-up truck crashed into the side of a tractor-trailer in the 1400 block of South Church Street at about 4:50 p.m.

A 41-year-old man and 10-year-old girl in the pick-up truck were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Two other occupants in the pick-up truck were taken to an area hospital for treatment, but their conditions were unknown.

Authorities have not released the names of the victims or said if charges will be filed in connection with the crash.
